The Amazing Achievements of Amy’s Kitchen
Measured by any standard, Amy’s Kitchen is a massive force in the food industry. This is even more amazing because they’re privately owned and not controlled by corporate interests. This has allowed them to maintain their integrity and produce food that’s good for us and good for the environment.
Founding
Back in 1987, Rachel and Andy Berliner wanted quick easy-to-make ready-made food that actually tasted good and was organic and healthy. Quickly realizing a gap in the market existed, they began making their own potpies to sell that fulfilled these criteria. As their new business began to take off, they named it after their newborn daughter, Amy, and the rest was history.
Vegan and Organic
One of the main goals of the Berliners was to create food that wasn’t just convenient, but also healthy. To achieve this, they focused on creating organic vegan foods that tasted great. Since they don’t have to focus on ever-growing quarterly profits, Amy’s Kitchen has been able to stick to these top-quality ingredients and produce healthy and delicious meals.
Renewable Energy
Doing good for the planet doesn’t just stop with food when it comes to Amy’s Kitchen. In fact, they have pledged to pay for renewable energy produced by Ørsted’s Sunflower Wind Farm. This is a part of Walmart’s renewable energy plan in which they plan to reduce emissions by one gigaton by 2030. This will allow Amy’s to provide a food alternative for those who want to cut down on greenhouse gasses released into the atmosphere.
Foods
When it comes to their food selection, Amy’s has a wide variety of items that are delicious and nutritious. Most of their selections fall into the categories of burritos/wraps, pizzas, entrees, and soups. Notable examples include their Spinach Pizza, Non-Dairy Bean, and Rice Burrito, and their Mexican Casserole Bowl.
The great thing about Amy’s is that there is something for everyone. Whether you’re looking for something spicy and sweet or a meal that is savory and satisfying, Amy’s has just the dish to hit the spot when you need it.
