Launched in 1994, Alliance Defending Freedom is one of the largest and most experienced legal organizations in the world. Its mission is to protect the following:

  • Religious freedom
  • Parental rights
  • God’s design for marriage and family
  • The sanctity of life

It has achieved accreditation by the UN Economic and Social Council, the European Parliament and Commission, and the Organization of American States. In addition, it has achieved 26 victories in the European Court of Human Rights.

Since the organization was founded by Christian Community leaders, it is unsurprising that most of its clients are Christians. This does not, however, mean that it cannot defend the rights of other religious societies. That being said, the organization is also suitable for Muslims, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mormons, Jews, and people with no faith.

In the U.S., the organization has represented students with different religious backgrounds as well as pro-conservationist, pro-life, conservative, and libertarian, among others. Outside the U.S., Alliance Defending Freedom has worked tirelessly to bring an end to genocide against Shia Muslims, Yazidis, and Christians, among others.

According to this legal organization, no one should be denied religious freedom whether they are of faith or no faith. Religious freedom refers to the right one has in exploring the deepest questions of life. The organization also advocates for free speech in public colleges and universities. It points out that all students should be allowed to express their views and debate crucial issues freely.

Besides, Alliance Defending Freedom defends the sanctity of life where it asserts that the law should safeguard the life of every individual from conception to natural death. Here, it gives an example of Jesse Ramirez, a Gulf War veteran, who was involved in a car accident. Ramirez was in a coma for 10 days before Arizona doctors gave his estranged wife the green light to turn off his water and remove his feeding tube. The organization intervened on behalf of Ramirez’s sister. Fast forward, Ramirez recovered beautifully and was even able to walk out of the rehabilitation center unaided.

Alliance Defending Freedom has been doing an outstanding job since it was launched.
