- Asking For It
The film was directed by O’Rourk, who also stars in the movie himself. The film’s central theme revolves around asking for it. It explores how victims are often embarrassed or ashamed to speak or seek justice when sexually assaulted or raped. The film also asks young men to begin a dialogue about consent, with the central message being “no means no .”The main aim of O’Rourk was to trigger a conversation about sexual assault and rape culture.
O’Rourke is a staunch advocate of raising awareness about rape culture and how it harms the lives of many. He has put together numerous campaigns to raise this awareness, including “We Are The Future: An Exploration Into Sustainability and Environmentalism.”His goal is to spotlight issues that not enough people care about or are aware of, such as the global water crisis, climate change, and mass deforestation. O’Rourk founded We Are The Future Foundation and POMPOUS (Projects Opposing Mass Prostitution Operations). He believes that if everyone raised their voice and fought for their beliefs, it would be easier for others to support movements like We Are The Future.
