Gino Pozzo lives up to the family tradition of football. It’s no surprise that Pozzo took fourth-division Watford Club to a premier-level club within a few years. Gino Pozzo was born to the Pozzo family of Udinese, Italy. The Pozzo family has had a long relationship with the Udinese Calcio Football Club in their city. Members of the Pozzo family have helped the position of president of the club. They were involved with the sport long before the family bought the club in 1986.

The Pozzo family has had an interest in several businesses over the years. In 2008, the family sold off their woodworking business to concentrate on the football clubs. In addition to owning the Udinese Calcio football club, the family bought the Granada football club and owned it for years before selling it to Link International Sports to focus on the newly acquired Watford football club.

A graduate of Harvard University, he helped turn around the Udinese Calcio Football Club with a scout-driven model when he began working there in 1993. This same model of business helped turn the Granada football club from Segunda B to Primera Liga within two years. Gino used this same model after he acquired the Watford football club.

Gino and his family left Spain and moved to England to focus on Watford’s success. With a long-term plan in place and views it as a long-term project.
