Tieks Owner Gives Back To Community
The fashionable foldable ballet flats appeared in 2010. The ballet flats are sold primarily online, and it’s surprising how fast they became popular. The flats are known for their high-quality Italian leather. The foldable flats are easy to carry, come in a pouch, and have become a global brand name.
Israeli-born Kfir Gavrieli came to the States as a young boy and watched his parents work hard to succeed. A strong work ethic and desire to succeed led him to Stanford University, where he earned several degrees. After graduation, Gavrieli worked in real estate, hedge funds, technology, and venture capital. He then used the knowledge gained to establish Tieks.
With his vast work experience, it was only natural that Tieks would become a huge success. But Gavrieli is not focused solely on business. Charitable works have become a huge part of his life. With a focus on helping women, he established the Gavrieli Foundation to help women in the community. And collaborated with the Kiva Foundation to provide microloans to poverty-stricken entrepreneurs.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, everyone was scared and desperate for Personal Protection Equipment (PPE). PPE was scarce, and the doctors and nurses who worked to help Covid patients had trouble obtaining PPE. Personal protection equipment was sorely needed to prevent the spread of Covid.
To help healthcare workers, Kfir Gavrieli incentivized people to sew and donate facemasks to hospitals and clinics. People sewing and donating facemasks could get gift cards for the ballet flats. This campaign was known as Operation #sewtogether. Gavrieli also started Tieks for Heroes, a campaign that offered gift cards to thank essential workers.
It is his charitable work and belief in giving back and helping the community that has gained Gavrieli the attention of his community and has him featured in a recent article in a webzine about entrepreneurs. Read this article for more information.
